You Wanted a Christian Furry Event. You Got One!

Raise your hand if you feel isolated in the furry fandom. From what I’ve gathered, many of us feel that way, to the point of wanting to simply give up and leave. The fact that so many people feel this way means, actually, we aren’t really as isolated as we think. I’ve seen many, many furries on social media say, “If only we had an event that wasn’t oversexualized / woke / disgusting / take your pick!”

The fact that we haven’t had one, I surmise, isn’t really anyone’s fault. All of us frustrated furries are, after all, bound together by a feeling, and not by geography. That makes it difficult to organize something like a “non-degenerate furbowl,” for example. It also drives the communities of us like minded people to be online-only. And that gives rise to behavior that is, well, ‘extremely-online.’

I get why you feel bad

That’s probably why many of you got so disillusioned after FreeFurAll. FreeFurAll was the first serious attempt at bringing us an event or community like this, and, don’t fool yourself, that first year was a great success. Yet, the event fell apart with breathtaking speed, thanks to actions of the extremely selfish, well-documented sociopath porn animator JasonAfex, and to a cowardly board of directors that voted to give Jason total control of the event in 2023.

The end result was an entire community getting disgusted and walking away, leaving only pedophiles, anti-social cranks, furry raiders and and a bipolar satanist funding it.

Cardinal rule: People are not gonna come out to a social event for those who create an anti-social product, but I digress.

We’re still here

Our event, called ‘Camp Uncancelable’ (is that the right spelling?) was held in a state park near Tulsa. That was no accident. Many of us involved in FreeFurAll who got up and walked from PeaceWolf and Jason still want to make a difference. There were some fourteen of us there; a small event indeed, but small furry events can often be the friendliest.

Many furries say they want an event that isn’t totally gross and woke. Well, we actually held one, and had a very nice weekend. We have a crew of people with lots of convention-staffing and hosting experience, and would like to see you there next time.

Who was staffing this? Well, for one, we have Foxglove, the guy who organized and lead FreeFurAll in 2022 and also co-founded Tails and Tornadoes. Foxglove has a terrific organizational ability, and we are once again putting him to work!

We also have the dealer’s den lead for FFA 2022. We have the tech guy who was initially tapped to replace Fox in 2023, who ultimately walked on FFA too, and is now organizing this event. There is a lot of organizational, artistic and technological talent behind our event.

And there’s also me.

I’m not sure if we’re the only group holding explicitly decent furry events, but we’re certainly the only group doing so that I personally know of. In addition to this being merely a decent event, it was a Christian-centered event. Now Foxglove might not say so himself, and Camp Uncancelable might not ever advertise itself as such, but this is just an unofficial blog, and I am free to observe that this event certainly was Christian friendly. How, exactly? Well, you’ll just have to join us to find out.

We be furries

I don’t know about you, but I still like being a Furry. This fandom is a nexus of creativity, and is entirely organic: You come right on in and just do your thing. There’s no corporate ownership, no private equity, and no appointed academic snobs deciding who contributes and who doesn’t. If you’re an artist, a fursuit maker, or have really any creative capacity, please tell me where else you can find that!

That’s why I’m not leaving. My job is to find other Christian furries, or furries that want to set a better moral example, and organize, network and make friends with them. If you’re interested in our event and our community, I have two servers for you to join.

The first is the official discord server of our camp, Digitalis. If you’d like to join, please message Foxglove on Twitter or Discord.

The second is the Furry Wholesome Hangout, a server run by me that is more centered toward artists and the formation of convention crews. If you join this server, I promise you’ll get any future announcements for Camp Uncancelable and whatever else we decided to do.

Looking forward to seeing you out there and off the freaking internet!
